Clint Samples is an Associate Professor and Foundations Coordinator for the Department of Art at the University of West Georgia. In 1998, he earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Painting) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Art Education) from the University of West Georgia in 1996.
Clint’s artwork has been accepted to numerous juried exhibitions both regionally and nationally and he has won awards at each level. In 2010, he received one of five UWG College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching Awards. As Foundations Coordinator he established Carve on the Quad, an event that encourages beginning art students to become more engaged in the Department of Art's Art Incend Week and community at large.
Clint is an active member of F.A.T.E. and copy editor for the publication Future Forward, the official journal of Integrative Teaching International.
Prior to teaching, Clint worked for 6 years as a Textile Designer for Milliken & Company in LaGrange, Georgia where he worked with designers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. At Milliken, Clint won several outstanding achievement awards for product design geared towards the Education and Healthcare markets. His textile designs have been featured in publications like Architectural Record and Healthcare Design.
